Shooting at a US music festival. Several people were injured, including a police officer

Several people were shot dead and a police officer was taken into custody after gunfire was reported Sunday night near the Moechella Music Festival in Washington.

People in the audience began to flee when the shots began to be heard.

Festival participants posted a video on Twitter Sunday night with people running.

“We can confirm that one of our officers was shot,” the District of Columbia Police Department said on Twitter.

“The officer was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition,” the statement added, according to the dpa, taken over by Agerpres.

Police told WTOP-TV that “several people” were shot near an intersection in northwestern Washington, where the festival was taking place. The television station announced that it first found out about the shooting immediately after 20:00 on Sunday (00:00 GMT Monday), in an area near the Moachella festival.
