Green lane for trucks with perishable or empty goods, at customs with the Republic of Moldova

The head of the Romanian Border Police had a working meeting with the representatives of the responsible authorities from the Republic of Moldova, in order to find solutions to reduce the waiting time at the border crossing points at the common border.

The immediate measures established in the working group for optimizing border traffic were aimed at streamlining traffic by creating a green lane for empty trucks and those transporting perishable goods, supplementing the Romanian Border Police staff, for document control, with border guards on each shift service, since 10.06.2022; supplementing the planned personnel to carry out the customs control of the goods by the Romanian Customs Authority, with six customs workers / duty shift, as well as the number of workstations.

Freight flows will be organized according to the load, so that there will be the possibility of empty trucks being routed by the Moldovan authorities to the crossing points with lower traffic values, such as Stânca-Costeşti and Oancea-Cahul,

The operating principles, the possibilities of placing the control tons, the number of staff allocated for each institution have been established, and these aspects will be implemented in the next period.

Following yesterday’s meeting, the Romanian Customs Authority has already seconded 6 additional customs workers who started working at the border customs point. At the same time, the president of the authority ordered cleaning and sanitation measures, being
assign 10 workers who take care of this activity.

The customs authorities of the Republic of Moldova are to inform the carriers that, after completing the online customs declarations, the parking time of a truck in the PTF will be considerably reduced.
