90 educational units, awarded at the national European School competition

The competition resumed in 2022 after a two-year hiatus caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. 131 pre-university education units from 36 counties and from Bucharest registered for this year’s edition.

The “5 Vâlsan” Gymnasium School from Amara (196 points), the “Ionel Perlea” High School of Arts from Slobozia (195 points), the Gymnasium School no. 10 Suceava (193 points), “Laţcu Vodă” Technical College Siret (191 points) and “Constantin Parfene” Secondary School from Vaslui (190 points).

11 of the winning schools are from Bucharest, 9 from Suceava and Dolj, 6 from Iaşi, 5 from Gorj, 4 from Cluj, Timiş, Bihor and Vaslui, 3 from Buzău, Dâmboviţa, Ialomiţa and Prahova, two from Botoşani, Constanţa, Călăraşi, Giurgiu, Hunedoara, Ilfov, Maramureş, Neamţ and one each from Arad, Bacău, Bistriţa-Năsăud, Caraş-Severin, Covasna and Olt.

In addition to the “European School” Certificate 2022, each awarded school also benefits from the amount of 5,000 lei, which can be used to equip the institution.

Activities and programs carried out between September 2019 and July 2022 were taken into account in this edition, including education and training programs managed by the European Commission, the European Parliament or other European institutions, activities carried out by schools in partnership with embassies, universities. and schools in the European Union, European companies, European professional associations, educational / training NGOs operating at European level, etc. or programs funded by the Structural Funds, in which the school is the applicant or partner.

According to the Ministry of Education, the “European School” certificate is valid for three years, at the end of which the school must apply again to reconfirm the title obtained.

“Obtaining the title of <Şcoală Europeană> gives recognition and prestige in the educational communities, and the efforts made to maintain the title show a growing interest in the development of new and new projects, which leads to an improvement of school management and the development of a solid organizational culture. in the press release.

The 17 editions of the national competition “European School” were attended by 2,290 schools from all counties of the country, 952 of which received the certificate and trophy “European School”.
